21 Days of Prayer

In a world driven by instant gratification and endless distractions, fasting remains a timeless spiritual discipline that serves as a powerful reminder of our need for God. While fasting can take various forms, from abstaining from food to limiting certain behaviors, it is important to remember that it is to be sacrificial but also needs to be done with wisdom of our personal limitations. Fasting is not just about denying oneself; it's a potent tool to move our minds from our physical needs to our spiritual ones. Seek God in what He is asking you to fast for these 21 Days in order to draw your mind towards your need for Him.

Day 1: Surrender Your Plans
Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6 
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
    and he will make your paths straight.
Prayer: Ask God to help you surrender your plans and trust in His guidance.

Day 2: Seek God's Will
Scripture: Matthew 6:9-10
“This, then, is how you should pray:“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
    on earth as it is in heaven.
Prayer: Pray for clarity in understanding and aligning with God's will for your future.

Day 3: Wisdom and Discernment
Scripture: James 1:5I
f any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
Prayer: Request wisdom and discernment to make wise choices for your future.

Day 4: Do not Fear.
Scripture: Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Prayer: Ask for the strength and courage to pursue your purpose fearlessly.

Day 5: Patience and Timing
Scripture: Ecclesiastes 3:1
There is a time for everything, and a season for
every activity under the heavens:
Prayer: Seek patience to wait for God's perfect timing in all your endeavors.

Day 6: God's Guidance
Scripture: Psalm 32:8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
Prayer: Pray for God to guide you and show you the way you should go.

Day 7: Faith to Step Out
Scripture: Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance
about what we do not see.
Prayer: Ask for faith to step out in obedience, even when the future is uncertain.

Day 8: Gratitude for the Past
Scripture: Psalm 107:1
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
 his love endures forever.
Prayer: Thank God for His faithfulness in your past and trust Him for the future.

Day 9: Humility
Scripture: Proverbs 11:2
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
     his love endures forever.
Prayer: Pray for humility to seek God's direction rather than relying on your own understanding.

Day 10: Commit Your Plans
Scripture: Proverbs 16:3
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
     his love endures forever.
Prayer: Commit your future plans to the Lord and ask for His guidance.

Day 11: Protection and Provision
Scripture: Psalm 121:7-8
The Lord will keep you from all harm—
   he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
    both now and forevermore.
Prayer: Seek God's protection and provision as you journey toward your future and the future location of Bedrock.

Day 12: Overcoming Doubt
Scripture: Mark 9:23-24
“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
24 Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
Prayer: Ask God to help you overcome doubt and unbelief in His ability to lead you.

Day 13: Walking in God's Purpose
Scripture: Ephesians 2:10
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Prayer: Pray for clarity in understanding your unique purpose in God's plan.

Day 14: Boldness and Courage
Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:7
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid,
but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
Prayer: Request boldness and courage to take necessary steps toward your future.

Day 15: Trusting God's Promises
Scripture: Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,
who have been called according to his purpose.
Prayer: Trust in God's promise to work all things for your good as you seek His will.

Day 16: God's Light on Your Path
Scripture: Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp for my feet,
     a light on my path.
Prayer: Ask for God's Word to be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path.

Day 17: Abiding in Christ
Scripture: John 15:5
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you,
you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
Prayer: Pray for the strength to abide in Christ and bear much fruit in your future.

Day 18: How am I Called to be a Part?
Scripture: 1 Cor. 12:4-7
There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them.
There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 
There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
Prayer: How am I called to participate in God’s work here in Sarasota and beyond? I am specifically gifted to be a part of God’s kingdom in some way.

Day 19: Wisdom in Relationships
Scripture: Proverbs 13:20
Walk with the wise and become wise,
     for a companion of fools suffers harm.
Prayer: Ask for wisdom in choosing and nurturing relationships that align with God's plan.

Day 20: Called to be a Part of God’s Work
Scripture: Matt. 28:18-20
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Prayer: God has a called us all to participate in his kingdom work, how are you called?

Day 21: Surrender Your Future
Scripture: Romans 12:1-2
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Prayer: Surrender your entire future to God, asking for His perfect will to be done.
